I am very proud to welcome you to Beardsley Junior High School. BJHS is the home to over 350 students in grades seven and eight. Our dedicated staff works incredibly hard to provide exceptional teaching that is reflective of the best practices in education. Our teachers’ commitment to our students is the foundation of our success.
Beardsley Junior High School offers something for every student. In addition to the core subjects of English, math, science, social studies and physical education, students are offered a wide array of elective classes including: Art (students discover their creative side), Band (senior and beginning), Broadcasting (a student-operated, live newscast where students work in front of and behind the cameras) – Temporarily Not Offered , Choir (boys’ and girls’), Computer Applications (to prepare our students for success in today’s technological world), Keyboarding (ALL incoming 7th graders will learn to type without looking at their hands!), Project Lead the Way – Design and Modeling (7th grade) and Automation and Robotics / Medical Detectives (8th grade) (PLTW brings STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education to BJHS), Science Fair (students complete a science fair project from beginning to end in hopes of competing at the county/state level), and Spanish (students will begin to learn how to speak, read and write Spanish). There are also activities outside of the school day to get involved in. BJHS has an outstanding after school sports program. We also provide an opportunity for the kids to help create our yearbook. We definitely have the ingredients to produce a well rounded student.
Our mission is to educate each and every student to better prepare them for the world outside of Beardsley Junior High. The administration and staff have extremely high expectations in regards to both student academics and behavior. If you are a parent that shares these expectations, lets work together to ensure your student becomes a productive member of society that is ultimately better off because he/she attended Beardsley Junior High School.
